For Xbox, a lot depends on its big non-E3 press conference. Right now, after a series of notable delays, mega-publisher 2022 is devoid of any major exclusives. In addition to the necessary game announcements coming to Game Pass and announcements about other devices you can stream these games on, Xbox may actually share some actual video game news.
Where to see
The event kicks off at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday, June 12th. You can stream it on Xbox. YouTube as well as twitch channels. If you prefer to view it with such heavy compression, it looks like you watch through the kaleidoscope, it will also be broadcast Twitter. Bethesda will also co-stream on its YouTube as well as twitch channels. Aaron Greenberg of Xbox said it will run for 95 minutes.
Xbox will follow up with the “expanded” demo at 1pm ET on Tuesday, June 14th. There won’t be any new announcements in this stream, but more information will be offered on the games showcased during the main event.
What to expect
Ahead of Thursday’s Summer Game Fest launch event, publishers and developers have been open about whether or not their games will be appearing during the show in an effort to further promote them; there are few surprises. Meanwhile, rumors of multiple reveals during Sony’s big State of Play demo had been circulating ahead of time; there are also few surprises. The Xbox event, however, is more than a mystery.
It’s a pretty safe bet that something anythingwith Halo Infinite will appear. Halo this is xbox Mario. And right now, the latest iteration is a multiplayer shooter that’s also a big real-time Microsoft game, with a lot of regular updates and a bunch of previously announced additions planned for future updates. Halo Infinite multiplayer features are still missing, including support for a co-op campaign, as well as the creative Forge mode for creating levels that was in previous games and was promised for release this year. Microsoft last year trademark “Infinity”, an obvious reference to the events that take place at the end EndlessCampaign preparing a possible expansion. Certain Affinity Studio I’m also working on a game. in some inexpressible capacity; some fans believe that he is developing a battle royale mode.
Fans are also convinced that Banjo-Kazooie revival is on the way. Through the achievements, some people noticed Xbox head Phil Spencer. playing the xbox 360 version Banjo-Kazooie earlier this month. (Some say it’s a sign; others say he’s just playing a game he likes.) Yes, this is the result of about three degrees of rumor, but one developer stated that something to do with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter jets are on the way. Spencer previously said Kotaku that any revival of the series is a call to original developer Rare, who is now an Xbox studio.
Speaking of Rare, the venerable studio is working on another game that can only be seen in screenshots and short cinematic trailers: Everwild. Last June after Everwild absent from Xbox E3, VGK first reported that the game has been rebooted internally and is now aiming for a 2024 release. Maybe this year’s non-E3 show is when we finally get to know its essence?
Xbox has a bunch of other announced games in the pipeline. Many were teased during last year’s Xbox E3 demo so far there has been no information disclosed in the interim. Choice:
- The Outer Worldsa sci-fi first-person role-playing game by Obsidian similar to fall out in space gets a continuation.
- Obsidian is also developing their own fantasy RPG called universally recognized.
- horror game Contempt, inspired by the work of H. R. Giger, was delayed several times. Currently scheduled for a wide release in October 2022 on Xbox and PC.
- Creators just a reason develop Smugglingcooperative game set in the 70s.
- atomic heart it’s another game like modern fall outs, set in an alternate version of the Soviet Union, where the robotics industry has become widespread. It looks crazy.
- Somerville this is Limbo– for example, when you run away from aliens accompanied by a dog.
- Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, GSC Game World has postponed the release of the apocalyptic shooter STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl April 28 to December 8, 2022
Two long dormant Xbox series are also being revived. New studio The Initiative is working on a reboot Perfect darkness. Playground Games, which just released a great Forza Horizon 5 in November, there is another entry in Fable a series of fantasy role-playing games on the horizon. One can only speculate whether any of these games will appear. (For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t be surprised if Playground shared some details about Forza Horizon 5 extension. His predecessor, 2018 Forza Horizon 4saw good luck island DLC just a few months after the release of the main game.)
But the biggest of them all – the only in-house Microsoft studio that shares billing with Xbox – is Bethesda. Bethesda postponed two of its biggest upcoming games last month: Vampire Shooter Redfalldeveloped Mining Arkane studio and open world sandwich-finding role-playing game Starfield. (Kotaku recently reported that Bethesda is no stranger to crunching and overworking, with development Fallout 76 a particularly difficult process.) Originally scheduled for release on November 11, 2022, Starfield now scheduled for release in the first half of 2023. However, work on it has been going on for years, and today Bethesda only boasts …a full eight seconds of gameplay.
Actually, you know what? Let’s face it. we do not see Starfield gameplay. Bethesda will probably just announce another one Skyrim instead of a port.
