If you were thinking about revisiting Notorious second sonA Sucker Punch Productions PlayStation 4 exclusive in 2014, now might be the perfect time, as some rare DLC is suddenly free on the PlayStation Store for the first time. Cole’s legacy provided some connective tissue between PS3 Infamous 2 as well as Notorious second sonbut was previously only available through pre-order or a special edition of the base game.
The news came today when Sucker Punch tweeted that Cole’s legacy “Available for free in most regions, except where a small fee is required due to local restrictions.” The studio is also promising to once again make cosmetic DLC available for Fetch, a character who has received his own spin-off game with Infamous: First Light.
First debut on PlayStation 3, Notorious is a superhero-themed action-adventure series that may not have achieved the same level of fame as other major Sony PlayStation properties. Despite some outdated “morality” mechanics that have often been criticized, the games have performed fairly well with critics and certainly have fans who will be thrilled that some of the hard-to-find DLCs are now easy to play.
reissue Cole’s legacy originally promised in blog post from Sucker Punch on July 1 of this year. Although its title is “Upcoming Notorious 2 UGC Maintenance And Legacy Franchises” is likely to disappoint people hoping for a true return to Sly Cooper as well as Notoriousthe studio has been clear about its commitment to supporting the classic games they know their fans keep coming back to.
These efforts include maintenance Infamous 2“UGC” servers with plans to “move them to a new home where they will work a little longer”. The studio acknowledges that the expiration of these services is inevitable, but hopes to keep the servers alive as long as there are active and interested players.
Notorious second son was one of my personal favorites on PlayStation 4 and I didn’t even know about this DLC until this announcement. This is definitely a reason to fire up my aging PS4 and it’s nice to see the studio promising support for a game as old as 2011. Infamous 2.
